Griffin was found lost and all alone, wandering the streets emaciated. A concerned citizen took Griffin off the streets. With a home already full of animals and people, she brought Griffin to the Asheville Humane Society. Unable to leave him to the winds of fate, this good samaratan then contacted the rescue organizations in the area. Luckily, BWCR was able to pull him from the shelter before his date for euthanasia.

"Griffin is one of the goofiest boys I have ever met, he sleeps on his back, has learned tricks, and wakes us up with kisses every morning.
He looks like a tough guy, but is gentle and loving with people. He has had some dog aggression in the past, but after working with him, training, and lots of socialization with his new pack (Griffin has a pack of  eight dog friends he sees about three to four times a week) he has become healthy and balanced, and loves to play.
Griffin also is an excellent walking companion, loves to carry his backpack while hiking, and has just learned to fall on the ground "dead" when you look at him and say BANG
!

We can't imagine living without him, he is a perfect fit for our little family.
Thank you Jodiah and everyone at Brother Wolf for showing such great compassion and care
for these little beings who deserve a second chance at a forever home! "

Quincy and her mother, Piper , were rescued from a high kill shelter the day before their euthanasia date. In March of '07, Quincy was adopted by a wonderful family in TN! Her mother, Piper is still waiting for her Forever home......

(Quincy, when she first arrived at BWCR)

"My first dog Mason had been dumped in the country and wound up on my door step. After two wonderful years I realize Mason, a 85 lb lab mix, acted more like my cats than a dog. I then decided that my puppy needed a puppy. I began searching through local rescue society pages and happened to find Quincy . She had the most adorable face, and like many animals, a sad story to go along with it. After visiting her I decided she'd make a great addition to our family. Now Quincy has a happy, forever home and Mason is acting like a dog!"

Yogi Montana was found abandoned at a trash dump. A nice person took him in then contacted BWCR. After arriving at our organization, Yogi was adopted by a wonderful couple who had recently lost their dog (and almost their own lives) in a fatal car crash.

Here are some photos of Yogi Montana! He is very happy...full of energy but gets wiped out after about a 1 mile walk...he does all his business outside...he sits/stays/releases for all his meals..he is such a daaaaling and a cuddle bug!!! He goes to the vet for a booster this Friday. He has recieved frontline & interceptor...and is in good health! He loves his food...and he loves chasing the squirrels off the front porch. He was very excited to ride with Quinn to Virginia (she is so sweet)...he's been to Shindig on the green, orbit video store lots of times, many walks at carrier park, my neice's 2nd birthday party...and we are going to start puppy classes this month hopefully!
WE love this lil (big) guy!
Take care...talk with you soon!

Doc was rescued from a high kill shelter that still uses gas chambers for euthanasia. We pulled him in the nick of time! When Doc arrived at BWCR, he had heartworms. After spending close to a grand for his treatment and many months waiting, a healthy Doc was placed up for adoption. He was very lucky to be adopted by his new family who loves him very much!

"Doc is, without a doubt, the best companion anyone could imagine! Joining us earlier in the year, he's been a resident for almost 7 months and "it" just keeps getting better! Our lives are enriched and more joyful since his arrival and his 6 female feline "sisters" agree! 4 of the 6 absolutely adore him! And, Doc, is patient and attentive ~ even allows them to share his dinner (almost unheard of). Imagine!? Attached photos picture Doc with his Daddy sharing some morning sunshine. Life is GOOOOD with our Doc!"
