Griffin was found lost and all alone, wandering the streets emaciated. A concerned citizen took Griffin off the streets. With a home already full of animals and people, she brought Griffin to the Asheville Humane Society. Unable to leave him to the winds of fate, this good samaratan then contacted the rescue organizations in the area. Luckily, BWCR was able to pull him from the shelter before his date for euthanasia.

(Quincy, when she first arrived at BWCR) "My first dog Mason had been dumped in the country and wound up on my door step. After two wonderful years I realize Mason, a 85 lb lab mix, acted more like my cats than a dog. I then decided that my puppy needed a puppy. I began searching through local rescue society pages and happened to find Quincy . She had the most adorable face, and like many animals, a sad story to go along with it. After visiting her I decided she'd make a great addition to our family. Now Quincy has a happy, forever home and Mason is acting like a dog!" Katie Duval, Quincy 's Mom

Doc was rescued from a high kill shelter that still uses gas chambers for euthanasia. We pulled him in the nick of time! When Doc arrived at BWCR, he had heartworms. After spending close to a grand for his treatment and many months waiting, a healthy Doc was placed up for adoption. He was very lucky to be adopted by his new family who loves him very much!
Doc living the life at his new forever home!
